We have developed an entirely proprietary system for fixing glass balustrades. Safety comes first, but the eye wants something too. The AA Glass mounting system for glass balustrades consists of only a floor profile. This is 'the container' in which the glass plates are clamped. This eliminates the need for a visible frame. Also, vertical posts and/or glass clamps are not required.
The AA Glass system can be mounted 3 ways.
Installing the floor profile on the ground is the simplest of the three options. In this case, you can install the floor profile of the balustrade system over the existing floor. This does not require any breaking and demolition work.

The second option is to incorporate the balustrade into the floor. This is the most spectacular solution because the glass is completely "free standing" with no visible support. It is more difficult to apply to existing floors, though. Are you going to remodel and are the floors already included? Then this is a great opportunity to incorporate the floor profile of the glass balustrade system into the floor.
In this process, the floor profile is hung against the existing storey floor. This is a very nice solution, as little of the tray is in sight for an optimal transparent effect.
With the solid AA Glass system, there is no need to mount a tube at the top of a glass balustrade for strength. But it can be done, of course. We can mount a tube or strip over the top of panels to create a handrail. This also prevents the formation of "dirty fingers" on the glass surface.
In addition to our own system, we can also install glass balustrades in other ways. For example, in certain cases it may actually be convenient to use posts (so-called "balusters"). Another option is to use glass adapters. This allows a glass balustrade to be mounted against a stairwell, for example, without using a profile.
Our balustrades are completely custom made. The glass is laminated and if necessary also tempered to ensure optimal safety. The glass type can be supplied both transparent and frosted. It is also possible to incorporate a color or image into the laminated glass. We are happy to advise you on all the possibilities of glass balustrades. Thus, based on your quotation request, we can advise on the type and thickness of the glass and the most appropriate mounting method.
A proper and safe assembly of a glass balustrade is obviously of great importance. AA Glas therefore has its own fitters who measure and assemble the glass balustrade with the right materials and tools. Our fitters are VCA certified (Safety, Health and Environment Checklist Contractors). AA Glas also has the GBO (Glas Branche Organisatie) professional certificate and the ISO 9001 quality mark.
