Which door should I take and why? To determine which door is right for your situation, it is good to distinguish 2 categories of interior glass doors:
Is there an existing door frame? Then you can take a standard glass swing door. These are easy to close with a standard door lock. You can choose between an obtuse glass door (the door falls entirely into the door frame) or a push-on door (the door falls partially into the door frame). The picture below shows the difference between a bricked and a rebated door.
A frameless recess is a passageway without a door frame. For this, you can use a swing door or pivot door. These doors do not close against a frame, which is why they come with a hydraulic hinge. This allows the glass door to close in a controlled manner and remain in the closed position. Of course, these glass doors are custom-made, so the opening can be made as large as you want. A door to the ceiling or an extra-wide glass door is a real eye-catcher! In addition, a sliding glass door is also a beautiful solution.
A swing door is a glass door that opens in both directions. So it does not matter which side you are on, whether you push or pull. After opening, the glass swing door closes again automatically.
In a pivot door (also called a pivot door), the hinge is not on the side, but at the top and bottom in the middle of the door. This causes one piece to pivot to one side and the second piece to pivot to the other side. By the way, the hinge does not have to be exactly in the middle. It looks sleek, modern and has an industrial look. Like a pivot door, a pivot door can also be opened in two directions. Installation is done on top of your finished floor, so you don't have to make any special provisions in advance.
Whereas pivot and pendulum doors require space to turn, this is not the case with glass doors. Glass sliding doors have the advantage that you do not have to take into account the direction of rotation of the glass door. We supply our sliding doors with the unique BAKA Excellent Line sliding system for sliding glass doors. These sliding systems for sliding glass doors are made of aluminum with a stainless steel appearance. This is very low maintenance and has a fantastic look.
